I’ve been in a precarious spot myself and decided to model a close friend who is also a Small Business Owner and apply for the “13 Weeks” of HELP during this COVID scare. See for me, small business owners are PAUSING on advertising or doing any hiring really, and at La Casa, we’ve been “JUST Making DO”, so I decided to apply for some HELP too, and although I”ve been able to figure things out, ALL the different site applications have been a CHALLENGING work in progress.

On March 18, 2020, President Trump signed into law the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), here is the info for PA which provided additional flexibility for state unemployment insurance agencies and additional administrative funding to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law on March 27. It expands states’ ability to provide unemployment insurance for many workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including for workers who are not ordinarily eligible for unemployment benefits just like me!
