Wauchula in Hardee County, Florida, is from a Miccosukee Indian word wa-tu-la-ha-kee, which means call of the sandhill crane.

TODAY, I’m reminded of a frequent flyer named Freddie and HIS wife who fly down the creek every so often in the evenings. 

It reminds me of growing up in Florida and STORKS that bring babies.

In life, I’m thankful for my children; I know they are TRUE GIFTS from YAHWEH, and they are here to break rehearsed generational curses!

My husband, Adam, and I grew up in Hardee County, Florida.

Adam’s mom, Mary, the local elementary school librarian who spent much time with the kids, was one of my favorite people before she ever became family; she would take storybook worlds and make them real. Truly, Mary could have worked for any theme park as a top-notch designer, but I’m glad we had her to transform our minds and eyes into the realms of everything! 

Because ELOHIM is returning things as HE promised, I took a path down memory lane and remembered why Adam and I bypassed the first house in Bowling Green we looked at because of all the FEELINGS it had inside.

The settlement of present-day Hardee County, Florida, originated in April 1849 when on (now) Paynes Creek, the Kennedy-Darling Indian trading post was established. 

This enterprise ended tragically on July 17, 1849, when Indians killed two of the clerks, George Payne and Dempsey Whidden, wounded a third clerk, William McCullough, and his wife Nancy, and then burned the post.
